Michael: Why I want to be a dad

As an educator, you can probably imagine that I enjoy the company of children. Whether it be teaching, playing, or merely striking up a conversation, I truly feel my most authentic self when I am around children. It is a privilege to be an educator because of the difference I can make in the lives of so many children. However, being a father would be the ultimate privilege because I would be blessed to guide, nurture, and care for a child from birth through adulthood. I have always yearned for the day that I would have a child of my own, to love unconditionally and to provide them with a life of unlimited dreams, opportunities, and success.
One of the greatest responsibilities that life has to offer is being a parent and it is not something that I take lightly. There are many challenges awaiting, sacrifices to be made, and changes to expect. I have never felt more prepared and excited for this next chapter in my life. I have met the most wonderful man and I cannot imagine undertaking such a responsibility with anyone else. Tim and I have built such a strong foundation that we are more than ready to start a family!
